In 2015, JH Glass Innovation won the Best Use of Glass and Glazing, Residential over $20,000 design award in the Glass and Aluminium Association of Queensland industry awards. The project this award recognised involved the refurbishment of a two storey penthouse incorporating a cantilevered glass pool, a spiral LED lit glass staircase, interior glass bubble walls with frameless automatic doors. Conquering projects that are the first of their kind in Australia, truly set JH Glass Innovation apart from its competitors and highlighted its determination to be a leader in the bespoke glass industry throughout Australia.
John Hyde established JH Glass Innovation in 1994. Through the utilisation of his 30 years in the industry, John and his team have tackled glass projects ranging from simple glass floor installations right through to the end-to-end project management of multimillion dollar glass design, engineering, fabrication and installation projects. Working with individuals and businesses throughout Australia as well as in Papua New Guinea and other international locations, John is passionate about his industry and smashing through preconceptions about what can be done with glass.
Having started his working career seeking an apprenticeship in cabinet making, a turn of fate saw John take up a glazing apprenticeship. Completing his time, the ever-ambitious professional was soon in business for himself and began to assemble a highly-trained, quality-driven team. As his vision moved beyond the everyday to the extraordinary, John sought out professional partners who could assist him in every stage of project delivery. Accordingly, John now only works with the best in their respective industries and his reputation for delivering unique, physics-defying projects is a testament to this.
With the worlds of technology and glass colliding, John sees glass becoming integrated in many aspects of everyone’s daily lives, well beyond the standard window fixtures and doors. With long standing international connections and relationships, John is at the forefront of discovering the applications that glass is being used for by technology innovators and is excited about the prospects for his industry. True to his pioneering vision, John is already incorporating technology into his designs and features.
